This is Cedar Hill Country #4. My mom asked me to stitch this for her to incorporate it into a quilt piece.

I saw this done by my friend BarbH. and immediately knew I had to do it up. We both chose colors to our liking. I chose a NN green and a Weeks color. This is Courtney Collection's Simple. And it's just that....a simple but beautiful stitch design.

Mother's day

First off, Mom, if you're viewing this before mother's day leave now....;)......................waiting for you to exit ...............(lots of dots since I can't seem to get blogger to let me put a space between paragraphs) .................................... Anyway, These are the items I stitched and finally got put together for my mom for mother's day. The Carrot is an etui(holds stitching items) but can also be stuffed and closed up to just be cute. I have the rabbit thread winders, needleminder and scissors with fob to go with it. The floss cards were made by Michelle at Raspberry Rabbits Ltd where I purchased the scissors that mom just so happened to point out to me not knowing what I was already making for her...Perfect isn't it?

I also made up Cherished stitches Sentimental thimble case(she's a quilter) and just got it put together.

Rosewood Manor

I put the last stitches in today and did the cutting on the hardanger and wrapping those bars all last. This is Rosewood Manor's Past & Present done over 2 on 40ct. It takes DMC, 1 Dinky Dyes(I used a Gloriana) and 1 WDW.

A needleroll that is.....I've finished up and will sew up today, Shepherd's Bush beehive needleroll. I used different lace than the eyelet that was called for.

I love birds and these Victoria Sampler button up birdies are no exception....though I think the leaflet I purchased of the series is my favorite. I have now finished both in the leaflet and think I will finish them up as shown on the chart.

I can show the Victoria Sampler Heirloom Anniversary sampler since it has been received as a gift.
I did it on bellpull fabric.

Also, for a gift I pieced together and did the binding on this table runner, my mother did the cutting and quilting.

I love Victoria Sampler and after finishing the woodland babies thought I'd like to do the button up birdies...but I couldn't see spending $10 each for 6 charts so put out a wish for them....Joanne at 123stitch came to my rescue and had leaflet #4 up on sale and it happens to be one I really liked best so I bought it and immediately started on the bluebird. I substituted things/floss since I didn't purchase the accessory kit. Here he is...

then I stitched up this thimble case and will put it together next....here also is what it will look like(blanked out the initials so not to spoil a possible surprise)

I love JBW and thought this SNC lemongrass sage color would look nice for A very merry spring....I don't know how I'm going to finish it for sure but maybe like the model on the chart

These are from Victoria Sampler's Woodland Babies and one(that I've already stitched) in the JCS ornament issue goes along with them. I have had tins forever and can't wait to finish them up with these cuties. I just need to find some buttons since I didn't get the accessory kit and add them.

The Great Scissor Scamper

Tricia had a fun idea to show off all her scissors and challenged us to do so....and someone will win something, but I think just showing them off is fun. So visit Tricia's blog and join in the fun.
These are All of my scissors (I think I rounded them all up out of project bags).

These are how most of my scissors are everyday except for my Dovos at my stitching chair and a couple of pair in stitching project bags for on the go. I got the flower frog at one Antique store and the base at an antique store in Alabama. The top I had just happens to be like the one that should go on it.

Below are my Ginghers, Dovos & small Fiskars. I started with the Fiskars(1), but wanted something smaller so I received the silver Ginghers(5), bought the Lanell ginghers(3) to go with a scissor case pattern I stitched but have yet to put together. I received the Sarah Ginghers(4) for my birthday one year and finally last year I splurged for the Dovos(2) at Celebrations. The Dovos are my favorite of all my scissors and they don't leave my stitching chair area.

Below are my pretty scissors and some of my newest acquisitions. The last 3 pair are Kelmscott scissors- Woven, Tudor Rose & Devon.
The brown/gold fob is from my friend Minnie, the name fob CyndiB made for me, JannG gave me the Christmas fob, the bubbly one is a new acquisition from Embellishing Bits(Kelmscott)and I made the green marble fob.

Pictured below are my fun and least expensive scissors. Several of them are very sharp. The top left is a project I made at Silver Needle's Camp Wannasew and they gave us the scissors, needle threader & floss holders. The top right needlebook is from an exhange which included the fun scissors. The pink fob is from an exchange, the blue one I purchased from my LNS and the tea pot one was given at a gtg. The black handled scissors are Japanese and have a curved tip. I purchased them at a quilt show in Paducah.

I love to stitch up needlerolls as it gives me sampler satisfaction as well as getting a quick finish in....I have several I have to sew together yet then stuff them all and tie closed. This one I got a bit further before taking a picure. I love these colors. This is Sekas & Co. Fall leaves Needleroll.

Rosewood Manor Past & Present. I am stitching this per page except I am finishing a pattern that continues instead of stopping and starting with the page break. This is my progress as of this morning. Be sure and checkout Karen's website as there are several corrections....I knew one ahead of time and reprinted the page but a few more have been added since. I caught them and corrected them correctly and was going to email her but see she has then up at the site.

This is Keslyn's Teensy Weensy. As I posted earlier, I used some of her colors and some of what I had on hand and switched around a few to mix them up a bit. I hope it doesn't show up blurry....I don't like it when a piece doesn't fit my scanner and my picture has to be from the camera....not the best that way.
I did notice my favorite Gloriana silk 'Topiary' (which I substituted for something else) is identical to Gloriana's Autumn Arbor which it calls for.

Sorrow

Last weekend a dear friend lost her battle with cancer and yesterday was her visitation and funeral. A friend and I went early to the visitation, glad we went together.
I have several ornaments stitched by Michelle. She had stitched Mawmaw's quilt by M Designs and I fell in love with it so she passed her chart along to me and I stitched it for my mother a few years ago. Than I passed the chart along to another friend.
Here is the beauty....being shown in memory of Michelle.

Loose feathers

I finished Winter of the 2011 Blackbird designs loose feathers, so now all 3 are finished. I used DMC for CC colors

I have some boxes to put the additional patterns on when I stitch those out of these leaflets.

I loved this design when Tracy(Ink Circles)first posted it and it showed the fabric too light. I chose to use 35ct. Parchment over 2 and love the colors.

stash purging

I've decided to do some stash clearing out. I don't want to collect anymore LOL...I'm going to keep what I like at the moment that I hope to stitch someday. Cross eyed cricket and Prairie schooler are two of my collections....I've gone through CEC but not PS yet plus some other designs. I picked up this cute Jeanette Douglas-One Sunflower chart at Celebrations last year. I am more of a 2 strand fan on larger count but this one is to be a delicate touch. It was a fun quick stitch.

This is Autumn of Blackbird Designs 2011 loose feathers. Heads up....there are several colors you will need 2 skeins of if you do the whole thing as one(at least I did)and I don't know about the CC as I'm using DMC and so don't have to cross each as I go so a skein is fine on those. Piney woods, endive, maple syrup(possibly) & wood trail are the overdyeds that I need multiples of.

This is Plum Street Pudding's 'Sergei' done over 2 on 36 ct. It was a lot of fun to do. I picked it out to stitch for my LNS. I am ready to get back to my own stitching for a bit though.
Scanning shows some tails so going back to clip those 1/16" ends....arghhh.
