Finally doing some ornaments from an exchange

Several years ago I was in an ornament kit exchange. You stitched an ornament then kitted up the same for several other people. Each person ended up with several different ornaments to be able to do. I finally decided to work on the ones I received and here are two.

This one is Brightneedle Home for Christmas from JCS 2005 ornament issue.

The Second one is Hands to Work A Christmas Pear also from JCS 2005 ornament issue.

Now to 'finish' finish them.

Gotta love winter weather

Now we have everything covered in a layer of ice....but it's a great stitching & baking day.

I finished the 4th of the needleroll series.

This new Drawn thread series is really fun. Here is January. They are to be calendar covers but I'm like Barb H and will pop them monthly in and out of a frame.

Needleroll #3 of 4

This is Spring Time....1 more to go then I will make them all into needlerolls. I only had the called for charm for the winter and autumn, this one and summer I am pulling from my stash. This scan also shows the drawn thread and hemstitching that is on each one.

My first Cole's quilt square

This one is for Madison W.
I so enjoyed doing this cute Mickey for her.

A wonderful stitcher is sending me a pattern which I will definately use for a future square. I didn't think I had ANY Mickey, but found this one buried in my stash.

Here is the link if you are interested in giving of your stitching time for these precious children.

My Thanksgiving finish

I hope everyone that celebrated had a great Thanksgiving. Those that don't hope your day was great also. LOL
When we got home we sat down to relax some more(lol) and I finished up Barrick Samplers-An American Landscape. It's a design I didn't remember getting so thought I'd start it when I ran across the leaflet.

Pulled out a UFO

and finished it.
This is Drawn Thread's Sunflower bellpull. I don't know why, really, that it was a UFO...it's not difficult, but now I'm happy it is a finish.

A good day for finishing

Mom & I spent the morning finishing up some of my finishes.
This is Lizzie Kate flip its.

This one is from JBW (I mislabled as Mill Hill)...called Christmas Ribbons

Both are wall hangings....I use Command by 3M removeable tabs. They are great for seasonal items and no need to patch holes after taking them down.

Guess I'm on a Cross-eyed Cricket roll

I just put in the last stitches(in fact didn't even iron it yet) for CEC Star Acorn....this is a fairly new chart but I had to do it up right away. I don't know how I'll finish it but hope this next week to have a finishing session with my mom.

'Love them' finishes

I just purchased this Waxing Moon leaflet-Acorn Halloween and had to stitch one of the designs right away. Will start the other one real soon.

This is the 2010 JCS Raise the roof ornament-Nickademus

My latest finishes

I guess I was on a Cross-eyed cricket roll.
This is a freebie called Tiny toad. I still need to pick up a fly button and attach it.

This is 'The great pumpkin conspiracy'....I changed a little on the sun/moon? design as I didn't care for a crown and bow on it and I substituted some colors where I didn't have the SNC, I did have some of them though and love the variations. You can click on the picture to get a closer look.

A new finish for me

I went to a stitching weekend over a week ago now and picked up a new stitching project for me....Started it there and finished it this last weekend. It's Nancy's Needle Shades of Autumn counted needlepoint....it was fun to do(except for the rainbow gallery stuff that stretches too easily) so I switched it out on part of the design for something that wasn't much better but I do like the finished look. I really love the fall colors. The yellow/beige areas have more green in them but the scan just don't show it well(neither does the leaflet pic).

A couple of finishes

I went to a stitching get together this past weekend and finished the CEC plus managed a very good start on my first counted needlepoint.

This is Hinzeit Dolphin of course....I changed the colors called for...used Weeks for the border and splashes and DMC for the letters.

This was a CEC freebie....Harvest Moon

This week's finish

This is a Keslynn Design called My day complete. It is done on 28ct. Natural/raw linen with the called for SNC Acorn woods.

A Wednesday finish

This Valerie Pfeiffer's Humming along....done with these for a little while(till I acquire more? lol). I'm going back to stitching on the underwater scene from a WOCS mag leaflet. Not sure what else I'm going to start up. I need to spend some time searching through my stash....oh the 'horror' of that task. LOL

A Sunday finish

Last year I enjoyed doing a Valerie Pfeiffer bird-"wren" so I gathered up a couple more to do.
Today I finished 'Sitting Pretty'. I love these chubby little birds. I am working now on a hummingbird and then have some chickadees to do.

An embroidery finish and a quilt done for me

This is a quilt my mom made for me for the spareroom-the picture isn't close up enough to show the wonderful fabrics used. May have to do a spot closeup.

Also, I'm working on embroidering blocks for a quilt that my Mom will put together for me. This is block #1. The designer is Crabapple Hill.

Back in June, I was in a Prairie Schooler exchange. I kept forgetting to post about it so here it is.
This is the package I sent to Lisa S

Here is the wonderful package I received from Lisa. I Love anything Prairie Schooler anyway but bee skeps are one of my favorites along with anything gardening themed, so the fabric is wonderful too. Nice bright cheery floss colors to go with it. Thank you Lisa.

My rotation progress

This is Cross n Patch Only By hand. I just added this UFO into my rotation.

This is Lanarte Summer Bouquet. It is halfway done....2 full and 2 partial pages finished.

Catching up on progress pics

Last night I put the last stitches into Hands to work-This is the day..., so here it is. It's on 40 count hand-dyed. It is from JCS 2009 magazine(I believe it was Jan).

And this is my progress on Lanarte Summer Bouquet. I really love this one but it's going to take quite a while to do all 4 pages(with a few partial pages also). This is at about 100 hours.

Anny is finished

Crossed Wing Redtail Anny is all stitched. I just love how she turned out.

I have to scan in my progress on the remaining two pieces in the rotation but will probably wait as I'm putting the last 100 or so stitches into Hands to work..this is the day.

Monday, June 28, 2010

Thank you

for all the nice comments. I'm about to put the finishing stitches in Anny and Hands to work but have put them aside to give fair time to Summer Bouquet. It has equal time in hours but is only 1/4 of the way done....I guess it is because it has so many color changes every few stitches. If I don't keep it in the rotation I'm afraid it will become a UFO....it's too pretty to become one but it's not as much of a joy to stitch.

This is my latest finish. AAN Zucca on evenweave white with Needle Necessities #144 It has about 90 hours in it.

This is my current piece in my rotation...so a couple more rotations and it should be done. Hands to Work This is the day.

Crossed Wing Anny Redtail is just about done....hated to put it down as I am so close to being finished, but must be fair to the other pieces in rotation....next rotation and it will be a finish.
