I love nature

especially bees, flowers and anything fall colors. This Birds of a feather chart called Bitter Flower sampler is the prettiest sampler. I stitched it over 2 on 40 ct. Bittersweet. It ended up being 4.5 x 7.5.  The lower case alphabet didn't have the letter h and I would have left it that way except the upper case alphabet DID have it...so I moved some letters over and fit it in so I wouldn't have to answer multiple questions as to why there is a missing h in one of the alphabets. LOL

Celebrations Stash Haul & class

Celebrations was wonderful again this year with the added bonus of a stitching parlor...plenty of room left even when there were quite a few stitchers in there. I didn't stay as late at night as I had thought I would but I enjoyed the whole show greatly.

I took Cecile McPeak's class from JABCo. It was awesome....on the left you will see the buttons I made.  This is what was left after everyone in the class got 1 or 2.
In the paper box(which will be decorated later as we chose to spend all our time making buttons instead) are the buttons I received from the other class attendees.
The buttons below the box were given to us by Cecile. Frog pin was one of Sarah's(her assistant) first attempts at the frog when she started working for Cecile. Then Cecile came around and took a scrap of the clay we were working with and made our initial.

I went to Meet & Great (posted earlier) on Wednesday night....Show preview on Thursday(we got to window shop) where then I of course made notes as to which shop to seek out first for specific items I saw....on Friday spent the morning shopping till our backs started hurting, so lunch, then the stitching lounge. Saturday was my class, a couple of shops to revisit then the stitcher's lounge again.
So here is my stash haul....mostly large cuts of fabric(40ct) & a few patterns with some floss, Halloween bell pull topper and some shop freebies/goodies given(bottom left corner floss, two patterns, wood tag, & key chain is already on my keys).

And I kept telling EVERYONE I saw, I don't know where I've been for the last 4 years but the Erica Michaels that I know from Rainbow Gallery isn't the same. WOW, her silk gauze patterns are exquisite...and a couple had to come home with me. A fellow stitcher in the lounge kept getting interrupted by me telling EVERYONE there too (LOL) to go look at her work as she was working on silk gauze and had several finishes to show off. I could stitch all I own on silk gauze and probably be able to display it all on one wall(sure saves space).

I went to 'Meet the Designers' night at Celebrations and it was quite nice....we got to see the class projects which I know influenced a lot of ladies to go ahead and sign up for some classes they were on the fence about. Theresa from Shakespeare's Peddler gave a wonderful talk about Reproduction Samplers she is charting.

I pulled out several things to work on while there this week/weekend. This Shepherd's bush Halloween Roll was done except for the hemstitching and putting together....well the hemstitching is now done.

A bit scary

This is the last of the bonus charts from Lizzie Kate's Mystery sampler. I did it with W onyx & charcoal on 28 ct. Moss green which I dyed a bit more yellow.

Mystery solved

Here is part 3 of Lizzie Kate's Mystery sampler Very Scary.

and here is the whole piece
My friend Christi has had hers done for a week or so and pointed out about the bottom border that it doesn't look finished...I agreed so we both did a bit of extra stitching on it...each with different results.

The charts are going into my sale album...see my photobucket link in my profile or click the sale tab above

Also, here are the Snow Belles so far....awaiting the release of the next 3 ladies. The picture of the fabric doesn't look like the blush 'for the cure' pink that it is in person

It's getting to be that time of year

We are having nice crisp evenings and mornings....being a bit rural we are easily down into the 40's at night. so nice for the windows to be open and give that hard worked AC a break before it did break. The wonderful smell of fires burning(bonfires) and the feeling of fall coming. I don't like the thought of not so nice coloring because of our drought and I definitely don't like the shorter days.

I like these little quick stitches that are the extras from Lizzie Kate's Mystery sampler series. I should be receiving part 3 from 123stitch hopefully today so I can get back to the larger sampler. I had scraps of fabric that I used for the bonus charts and I used Weeks Mascara on these two.

Beautiful weather & a finish

We have finally broken the stretch of 100's and maybe even the high 90's. It's been a nice cool 75-85 degrees with a hint of fall in the air.
Lizzie Kate's Baby it's cold outside doesn't quite fit our weather but we know it's coming.
Here she is...the 3rd installment of the Snow Belles series. I'm working on the extra parts till the next 3 parts come in or until my 3rd part of LK Very Scary mystery sampler gets here.

I'm not ready for snow

But the little Lizzie Kate Snow belles apparently are. Here is the 2nd installment of the piece.

Snow Belles

I started the Lizzie Kate Snowbelles...I'm stitching them on R & R For the Cure fabric and instead of whitewash I'm using Weeks Snowflake. Will add the embellishments when it's all finished and out of the q snaps.

My hand at dyeing

I stitched this freebie I had printed out and would like to link you all to it but I can't find it at her site anymore.  Our Pioneer Homestead blog .
I did it on mint green(thinking witches face here) and used SNC monster mash but I'm not as crazy about how it turned out so can't do any harm by trying staining. I used instant espresso...it sure smells good and I like the coloring  a lot better. The final picture doesn't really show the shading of the coffee stain....a little heavier in between the rows of words...and a few nice blotches of brown...fabric is still green but more witchy face green ;)
