Progress & a finish

The first is an ornament that I had started quite some time ago and found when going through my ornament issues, so I finished him up.

Here is my start on LK's mystery sampler. I'm doing it over 2 on a fabric that scanned in it's color but isn't showing here in my preview(hope it shows up as yellow and sparkly as it really is....it looks great with the sparkles and the colors called for.

A bit of catch up and show n tell

First, a wonderful Christmas wish list was started, I was able to grant a wish and my wish was granted 5 fold. I wished for any one of the parts of Lizzie Kate Hearts and Holly mystery sampler....I received from Leslie all 3 parts and 2 pieces of her wonderful hand dyed fabric to try. Under the Sea Fabrics is her site for these yummy colors and many more. 1 piece is 32 Belfast and one is 36 Edinburgh.

Next up is a finish. It is from a past JCS ornament issue.

 And last but NOT least....Christmas eve I received the redwork blocks I stitched finished as a quilt(wall hanging) all pieced and hand quilted by my Mom. I'm going to try and get a better photo of it and see if I can't get one to show the wonderful quilting on it and show it in a later post. You can click on any pictures to see them closer up.

A finish- sort of

This is a finish for me except for personalizing. The designer was originally going to make it a wedding sampler which is an idea that I liked. She ended up making it a memory sampler of her childhood. I left off the motifs that mean something to her and decided I will put in the names and date for a wedding day. That part has to be charted out yet and stitched but otherwise the piece is done. This is all that I would show anyway as I'd block out the names so here she is.

A finish and a delivery

Delivered SL Purple Passion to it's owner. They loved it as much as I do.  Itching to start Bruce's Brilliant Blue but have to wait for some anchor colors to come to me and the fabric. Didn't have a large enough antique white for it and I think it needs to be on the light color.

I didn't take the time to scan in the finish 2 pages ago....the last 4 pages were minimal stitching so here she is fully completed and ready to go to her new home. With railroading and using Anchor(which is supposed to be thicker) there isn't as much coverage in some areas that I'd like. But I won't be examining it up close like when stitching and hopefully it's admirers won't either. Kind of like 'if you see my dust you came to my house for the wrong purpose'. ;)

Halloween past revisited

We aren't doing Halloween here tonight...we had Trunk or Treat on Sunday night and there aren't trick or treaters here in our subdivision anyway.

This was a fun stitch. I've had the chart for years and had fabric pulled for it....glad I waited because I'm in my over 1 phase again and I'm glad I did it over 1. It's the backside of a chart.

Love Blackbird and over one

I just finished up this Blackbird piece. I did it over 1 on 28 ct. and am ready to continue pieces over 1 for a while. It sure makes it possible to display more when most pieces end up being tiny. This one measures almost 4 x 8 which isn't really tiny but it was charted to be 7 x 15.

Progress on a WIP

I have finished page 5. I have 4 more full pages and 3 1/2 small pages and this baby will be finished. At this point I will be finishing up my 2nd full skein of SNC Acorn Woods after having started with a partial skein...I have 3 more to use so I think I will be fine on skein count.

A finish

Just put the last stitches in this a few minutes ago. Lots of frogging on the house...two colors were too similar so it didn't have the patchwork look it was supposed to have. Left the L-P row as is...see, it's close to the Q-U color. Guess it was just my dye lots.  Not sure if I like the 'a' on weathered. I first thought it was a misspelling...may go back and change that.

More fall

 Here is my finish from over the weekend. The leaflet shows the individual ones centered on a fabric pumpkin but I think I am going to try that with the 4 square. I left off the outer border and switched out the purple on 2 squares as I ran out after the first purple border.

Fall WAS in the air

We had an unusually cool July-first part of August but we are now full swing into summer with 90's and 100's. I love fall but I wasn't ready for it to be here yet as I dislike Winter so much.

Here is a finish that fit right in. I did it over 1 on 28 ct. so it is @ 2.5" square.

Winnie the Pooh has always been a favorite in our household. A friend was getting rid of some things and this kit was among them. She had intended to do or have it done at some point but gave up....I stitched it up for her (finished at 12:20 this am) and she can frame or make it into a pillow as she chooses.

Just a little bit ago I put the last stitches into this piece. It was so much fun to stitch. I was drawn to part 2 after a friend stitched it a year or so ago and I didn't know at the time it was a 3 parter. Was so glad to be able to get all 3 parts to stitch it up in a SAL.

So close

I am so close to finishing Jardin Prive's Sampler Au bouquet 3 charts. Most likely today or tomorrow. Empty nest this weekend so I will get a lot of stitching done. I've missed stitching this last month but life does take precedence sometimes.

No stitching....

No stitching for me last week from Sunday till Sunday. I went as one of the adults with our teens to Moore/Norman Oklahoma on a misson trip. It was VERY Hot but much less humid than here in the mid-Midwest. The work was hard but very fulfilling. So sad to see so much devastation.
I spent about 5 minutes this past Sunday and an hour or so Monday night stitching, that's it. Have too many things to do to catch up. I hope to get a bit of stitching in tonight.
Also, I've inventoried but not scanned in some stash for a lady that wants to sell her mom's things as she no longer can stitch due to macular degeneration. If you would like to see the list, let me know. All fabric is gone, but there are skeins of floss, boxes of carded floss(very organized) and lots of leaflets well loved.
